Edelweiss Choir of Grand Rapids
“The Heart and Soul of the Club!”
Director – Nancy Crumback
But I can’t sing in German! Yes, you can!
Instruction in German pronunciation is provided at rehearsals.
From old German folk songs to classical composers to new compositions in the world of German music, the Edelweiss Choir of Grand Rapids aims to entertain and delight old and new generations with their diverse repertoire of German-based music. Choir members enjoy singing in standard German, Germanic dialects, Latin, and sometimes English. All levels of musicianship are welcome!
Choir Seasons
The Fall Season runs from mid-September through December. The choir sings at the Edelweiss Club’s Oktoberfest held every year at the end of September. The choir holds an annual Christmas concert in partnership with the Ein Prosit Band. This concert is held inside the beautiful St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Grand Rapids in mid-December.
The Spring Season runs from March to the beginning of June. The two main concerts for this season include a late May concert held at the Latvian Hall and singing at the Festival of the Arts in Grand Rapids the first weekend of June.
The choir also enjoys singing around the community, from various folk or church festivals to retirement communities. The frequency of these events vary from season to season.
